Inflorescence form

with axis: the inflorescence includes branches or stalks that are not pedicels. A pedicel is the stalk of an individual flower.

without axis: the inflorescence includes only pedicels, or is completely without stalks.

comprised of one or more cyathia: a cyathium (plural cyathia) is an inflorescence that looks like a single flower but is in fact a number of unisexual flowers clustered together inside an involucre. An involucre is a cup of close-set or fused bracts.
